What We Believe...

Below are listed what we describe as our Foundational Truths. Foundational Truths explain our theology and are a statement of faith - they are powerful, non-negotiable and guide all we say and do. They can be summarised as follows:

The Bible

We believe in the uniqueness of the Bible, as originally given, to be without error, the fully inspired and infallible living Word of God, the supreme and final authority in all matters, in faith, conduct and life.

The Godhead

We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that they are one God sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

The Saviour

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His total humanity and His sinless life. In His authoritative teaching, His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through His blood shed in His death, His bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father, His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive His church.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in the conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification. We believe that through the baptism of the Holy Spirit the born again believer is endued with Pentecostal power as the gift of Christ to be His witness, with signs and wonders following so that through this enduement of power the born again believer is empowered to participate fully in the ministry of the Church, it’s worship. evangelism and service.

Mankind

We believe in the universal sinfulness of all men since the Fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.

Salvation

We believe in the necessity of salvation through repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the sinner is pardoned, ransomed, restored and forgiven thus being accepted in God’s sight as righteous in Christ Jesus. This justification is imputed by the grace of God as a free gift made through the atoning sacrifice of Christ. It is received by faith alone and results in new birth sealed by the indwelling Holy Spirit of God which is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit producing a holy life.

Lordship

We believe that the Lordship of Christ is central to salvation and is inseparable from His resurrection insomuch “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved”. (Romans 10:9). We believe that Jesus Christ is both Lord and Saviour; if He is not one then He is not the other.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity and priesthood of all born again believers in Christ who by the Spirit of adoption are sons and heirs of God through Him and that as such these comprise the universal Church which is the body of Christ, God’s family.

The Ministry

We believe in the five fold ministry, that is the ministries that Christ has set in His church, namely apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers; that this is for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry for the building up of the body of Christ. We believe in the present operation of the manifold gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament, as resources available to every born again believer as the Spirit gives them and that these are essential to the work of the ministry today.

The Ordinances

We believe in the baptism of believers in water in obedience to the command of Christ and the commemoration of Christ’s death by the observance of the Lord’s Supper until His return.

The Commission

We believe that the Gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the Gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind and a ministry of reconciliation of man to God.

Israel

We believe that God has made covenant with His people Israel through Abraham and that the terms of this covenant are irrevocable. We believe that we the Church, God’s family are recipients of God’s promise to bless all the nations of the earth through Israel and that we now share in the commonwealth of Israel insomuch that having been as a wild olive branch we are now grafted in to the rich root olive tree which is Israel. We therefore bless, pray for and support God’s people Israel and we believe that we are called to support the Jewish nation, His chosen people Israel.

The Rapture

We believe that the Lord will appear on a cloud to receive His bride the church, that they shall be called up to meet Him in the air and changed in the twinkling of an eye, the bodily resurrection of the saints. We believe that having been made righteous in Christ that the born again church will not endure the wrath of God and therefore that we shall be taken out of the earth before the commencement of the time of “great tribulation” to come, returning with Christ the coming King to reign with Him during His millennial reign.

The Coming King

We believe in the certain and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ, that His return will be personal, physical and visible so that He will reign in power and in glory on the Earth for 1000 years and that His saints will reign with Him.

The Future State

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the final judgement of the world. We believe in a real heaven and a real hell so that there will be the eternal conscious bliss of the righteous who will enter the New Jerusalem and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked who will be cast in to the Lake of Fire.
